From Bellingham, Washington drive east on Highway 542 (Mount Baker Highway) to the Austin Pass Trailhead, located about a mile past the Mt. Baker Ski Area.

Trail Description

Lake Ann, located directly under Mt. Shuksan, gives amazing views of the summit and the many glaciers hanging from it. The trail does receive plenty of use, and has a very limited season (generally opens mid August) due to heavy snowpack. From the trailhead the path drops to 3900ft before climbing over a ridge (el 4850ft) and back down to Lake Ann.
