Drive 13 miles north of Bonners Ferry, Idaho on Hwy 95 to a Y. Bear left for one mile to Copland Road #45. Turn left and continue over the Kootenai River and on to the frontage road #417. At #417 turn right and drive 10 miles to Smith Creek Raod # 281. Turn left and follow #281 to the end of the road.Trail Description
Hike trail #21 for one mile to a junction with trail #347. Bear left for 3.5 miles to the summit. At about .5 miles up #347 the Ancient Cedars are quit amazing. The summit is three summits in one, and has an old metal lookout tower on it (stay off). From the summit you can see West Fork Lake below and the Selkirks all around you. On the descent walk the 200 yards out to the lake for a view back up. This hike is rated moderately difficult.
