Directions
Drive 12 miles south from Prairie City on County Road 60 to the road’s end and the Strawberry Campground.Trail Description
This trail provides access to popular Strawberry Lake, as well as Upper Strawberry Lake and Strawberry Falls. Strawberry Lake is only one mile from the trailhead giving easy access to some great strawberry mountain scenery. After another mile past the lake, a half-mile side trail leads east to Little Strawberry Lake. For those looking for longer hiking options, continue straight on the main trail and hike to Strawberry Mountain, three miles further. For an even longer option, continue south on the Onion Creek Trail and connect with High and Slide Lakes before looping back to the trailhead and covering a distance of over 18 miles.
Comments
Fairly easy hike, with some pretty minimal switchbacks starting from the trailhead. Not much of an overall elevation gain. The lake is quite pretty and good fishing to be had, but lots of people. I would recommend heading further up the trail to Strawberry Falls and Little Strawberry Lake.
