Coast Hikes

Return to Message Board

Hello all, my family is visiting this next weekend, and if it's nice, I'd like to take them on a short hike along the coast near Seaside. Any suggestions? Thanks

You might also try some of the trails in Ecola State Park. The trail from Ecola Point to Indian Beach is pretty nice, short, and fairly easy.
I would check out the Neahkahnie Mountain Trail, between Seaside and Tillamook. It offers good views of the coast, and it can be made a loop trip (although if hiked as a loop, it does require a mile or two walk along highway 101, which insn't the most fun with huge RV's blasting by). There are also a couple short trips to the beach in Oswald West State Park, which is just north of Neahkahnie.
You could try Cape Lookout, just south of Tillamook. It is a short hike but has some great views of the ocean. Another possible Hike is Niagra falls, close to Hebo. This one is a little more challenging to get to but the two waterfalls are pretty spectacular and it is only a mile hike in from the car.
