Wildlife Hikes
Return to Message Board
I'm looking for some good winter-wildlife hikes near the Portland area. If you've got one, please post!
You may try looking at hikes on Sauvie Island. I'm not sure if they are open this time of year (either due to wildlife concerns), but it may be worth looking into. I know there is quite the population of wetland animals, and from what I hear, there are Bald Eagles that Frequent the area. A day pass is required for parking in the wildlife area.
To reach it, drive north from Portland on Highway 30, cross the Sauvie Island Bridge, continuing straight until reaching Reeder Road. Turn right and follow this road to its end and the trailhead.
