Has anyone done any hiking in the Elkhorns, west of Baker City. They look pretty impressive. Are there any good trips?
Great place to hike in the heat of the summer. You can drive to the top of the Elk Horn crest trail in three places and hike across the top.
I've only done short hikes around Anthony Lake, but I would say that it is a pretty impressive place. Its kind of unexpected to have tall 9,000 foot granite peaks out there. They kind of have the appearance of the Wallowas. It is a place I would like to explore some more.
